Spring, politics, economy, war,and all of us together on a ship headed who-knows-where. I try to get discouraged but, ultimately, hope surfaces and I'm up to my ears in the joy of the journey. I'm out the door to drive to a show in Newport NH, and I'm so delighted to find myself as enthusiastic about playing for my beautiful audience as I've ever been. I started at seventeen and 2008 is my fortieth year traveling to and fro strumming and singing. It's been a great ride.
My friend Jimmy Buffett dropped by Berklee the other day to teach a class on the future of the music business (photo below). Jimmy has been a valuable teacher of mine over the many years we have known each other, and I am so grateful to him for sharing his knowledge and experience with the students.
I've delayed my plans to go back into the studio for about a year. I'll be working on a live CD and I'll post an occasional new song on my web site, but the shifting sands of the recording industry require patience.
That said, check my schedule, come to a show, and say hello ......
